Executive function

A family of control skills: planning, switching, inhibiting, and updating goals.

Executive function is an umbrella term for the control processes that organize behavior toward a goal — not a single brain “muscle.”

Concentration games usually tap a slice of it: inhibitory control (don’t click the lure), updating (track the next target), and sustained attention (finish the run).

Treat tools on this site as short practice reps for those slices, then apply the same intentionality to real work blocks.
